A new professional shorthand
“Send me your Signal.”
When a résumé is too flat and a profile is too broad, send the clearest version of who you are, how you work, and why you matter now.
No public white flag. No vague “open to work” announcement. You choose the moment, the audience, the proof, and the next action.
Free preview, no signup required. Claiming and completing your full Signal takes about 10 intentional minutes.
Your Signal

A Signal Drop

A Signal Boost
The private campaign that puts your Drop into motion across your network, with intelligence and proof behind it.
See a Signal worth passing forward?
Don’t just like it. Send it to the person who should see it.
How SignalLayer works
One professional identity. A clear path to opportunity.
SignalLayer is not a résumé builder or a job board. It is the layer that helps you become understood, trusted, discovered, and prepared.
Step 1 takes about 10 intentional minutes. Everything after it builds from the Signal you create.
Step 1
Build your Signal
Capture the identity, experience, operating style, and opportunity fit a résumé leaves out.
Step 2
Publish your presence
Choose what becomes visible through your Signal Card, Dossier, and Professional Directory profile.
Step 3
Add proof and trust
Support meaningful claims with Receipts, verified facts, Trust Signals, and professional introductions.
Step 4
Discover opportunity
Be surfaced through Signal Jobs, referrals, and professional discovery based on fit—not keyword density.
Step 5
Build decision intelligence
Turn a real role into an evidence-backed Application Dossier with alignment, gaps, and validation questions.
Step 6
Prepare and follow through
Use Signal Copilot for role-specific preparation, outreach, follow-up, and the next move.

What is SignalLayer?
A 90-second look at the Professional Identity Layer™ — and why you're more than a résumé.
From résumé filtered.To Signal discovered.
Same person. Two different fates. One ends in an ATS reject pile. The other ends in a recruiter's inbox.
"I get quiet when things get loud. Then I move."
See your Signal — for real.
Three real questions. What you see is exactly how you'd appear in the directory — same card, your actual status.
What's your role?
A short title is enough — "Product Designer", "Head of Ops", "Founding Engineer".
Your Signal preview appears here as you answer.
Rendered with the same card every published Signal uses.
You can teach skills. You can't teach drive.
Every hiring manager knows it. Every resume hides it. SignalLayer surfaces the things that actually predict who thrives — the things you either have or you don't.
Tap a trait — see how it reads on a Signal
"I'm the one still working on it after everyone's logged off."
These are either there or they're not. We make them findable.
Why SignalLayer exists
After navigating multiple layoffs, career transitions, and starting over more than once, I realized the hiring process often overlooks the very qualities that make people valuable.
SignalLayer was born from that experience. I built it to help professionals tell a richer story, help recruiters discover talent in a more meaningful way, and help opportunity find the right people.
Because we're all more than a resume.

The core philosophy
Opportunity doesn't only come from applying.
Sometimes it comes from being discovered.
SignalLayer serves professionals actively searching, quietly exploring, employed, consulting, advising, speaking, founding, hiring, referring, and mentoring. The platform is larger than job seeking — but careers change, companies change, life changes. Being Available for Opportunity should never be something professionals feel they need to hide.

Your complete professional identity.
People don't hire resumes. They hire people.
SignalLayer brings the professional identity layer to the surface.
Your Signal
Your resume shows what you did.
Your Signal shows who you are and how you did it.
Every SignalLayer profile — called a Signal — captures the professional identity that resumes and LinkedIn profiles were never designed to show. How you think under pressure. How you lead when things get complex. How you show up consistently regardless of title or company. What people call you for. What makes you distinctly you.
Your Signal lives in the SignalLayer directory as a Signal Card — a live professional identity profile visible to hiring managers, collaborators, and anyone looking for someone exactly like you. It generates a Signal Dossier — a premium document that goes everywhere your resume goes and says everything it never could. And it powers behavioral job matching that surfaces roles where you are genuinely a fit — not just a keyword match.

Built by someone living it

I have been laid off four times in seven years.
I know what it feels like to sit in that meeting and already be doing the math before it is over. Healthcare. Severance. Mortgage. The conversation you have to have at home that night.
And then the search starts. You update the resume. You apply to everything. You post on LinkedIn with carefully chosen words and get two hundred likes and zero introductions. The system processes you like a keyword. ATS filters reject you before a human ever sees your name.
I also spent years on the other side of that table. Hiring people. Building teams. Developing careers. And I never hired a resume. I hired the person. The way they thought. The way they showed up. The way they made the room better just by being in it.
None of that was ever on a resume. None of it was ever on LinkedIn. There was nowhere for it to live.
So I built somewhere. SignalLayer is not a job board. It is not a career service. It is a professional home — built for the person the resume never captured. Built because I was that person. And because I knew I was not alone.

usesignallayer.com/u/sam-vazquezWhat the research says
This is not a new idea.
It is just the first time
it has had a platform.
Hiring managers have always known that behavioral identity predicts performance more reliably than credentials alone. They just had no structured way to access it before the interview. The research on what actually drives hiring success — and hiring failure — is consistent and decades deep.
85%
of job success depends on soft skills and behavioral traits, not technical credentials
Harvard, Stanford, and the Carnegie Endowment for International Peace
80–90%
hiring success probability when candidates are evaluated on behavioral traits rather than credentials alone
SHRM Labs — 40 years of research in hiring and workplace behavior psychology
39%
of skills required in the job market will change by 2030 — the behavioral traits that predict who adapts will not

Behavioral fit predicts performance
Decades of organizational research confirm that how someone operates, communicates, and leads predicts job success far more reliably than credentials alone.
Hiring managers cannot see it yet
The resume and interview process was designed to assess qualifications. Behavioral identity has never had a structured place to live — until now.
Your Signal shows what resumes cannot
Signal Mode. How you operate. What you solve. What peers say about you. The behavioral picture hiring managers want but have never been able to access before the interview.
Skills can be learned. Character cannot.
The majority of professional corporate roles can be learned by the right person. What predicts long-term success is not the credential inventory — it is the behavioral quality of the person holding it. The ATS was never designed to see that. SignalLayer was built for nothing else.
The professionals who stand out have always been the ones who communicate behavioral fit clearly.
SignalLayer is the first platform built to help every professional do that.
